'Prairifire'
Crabapple
'Prairifire' Crabapple (Malus 'Prairifire')
produces a profusion of pinkish-red flowers. New leaves emerge purple
and turn reddish-green as they mature. In the fall the foliage turns
an orange-red, and the maroon 1/2" fruits persist well into winter.
The bark is a very attractive glossy dark red. Very disease resistant,
Prairifire retains especially good foliage during the summer.
Prairifire reaches a height and width of 15 to 20 ft. making it ideal
accents for the landscape.
