Beauty® Elderberry (Sambuscus
nigra 'Gerda') has
intense purple-black foliage that provides season long interest and
color. The leaf color does not fade in summer, but actually gets darker.
Loads of unique 10" lemon scented, rich pink flowers cover the
plant in late June and early July.
Dark purple berries attract songbirds in late summer.
Use as a shrub in a mixed border or cut it back each year. Black Beauty
reaches a height of 6 to 10 feet tall and 4 feet wide. Grow in sun
for the best color.
