(Physocarpus opulifolius 'Monlo')
purple-red foliage turns almost
almost black in the summer sun. Pale pink flower clusters appearing
in spring contrast well with the foliage. 'Diablo' can get quite large
8-10' tall and wide but can be maintained at a smaller size by cutting
branches to the ground each spring. Plant in full sun for the best
color. Looks great in the rear of a perennial border.
