Ornamental Grasses

Grasses are your garden problem solvers. They are hardy, tough and durable. Their unique colors, textures, and forms add excitement and motion to the 4-season garden. Ornamental grass’s animated movement will differ with the seasons for dry and living grasses appear and sound quite different. Grass forms are quite varied from low mounding to tall screens offering something for everyone!

General Care Instructions
Most ornamental grasses prefer the sun, and like to be moist the first year they are planted. Afterwards, they require little care.

Leave your grasses stand through the winter. They are beautiful when snow-covered.
Cut your grasses back when new growth appears in April. Most grasses are late to renew growth.

Fertilize your grasses in spring and again six weeks later with a high phosphorus fertilizer to encourage large numerous seed heads and deep root growth.
