Rudbeckia
'Goldsturm'
1999
Perennial Plant of the Year

Rudbeckia
'Goldsturm' (Rudbeckia
fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm') was named the 1999 Perennial
Plant of the Year by the Perennial
Plant Association.. 'Goldsturm' is an improved orange coneflower
with a compact habit and 1 to 2 inch golden-yellow petals which encircle
a nearly black cone. It blooms up a
"gold storm" in late summer atop 2-3" tall plants.
'Goldsturm' is a long-blooming, low maintenance perennial grown best
in partial shade to full sun.
Plant in drifts with ornamental grasses and
russian sage. Try a daisy trio with
'Becky' shasta daisy and 'Magnus'
purple coneflower.
Leave seedheads as a tasty treat for birds and to catch snow in winter.
