This handout is meant
as a guideline only. Many other plants may survive in shade besides
those on this list and many of the plants on this list will also grow
in sun. Plants listed as sun loving will thrive as long as they receive
at least 6 hours of sun.
There are few plants that will grow in truly dense shade. The best option
in this case is to either prune large trees to allow more light to enter
or substitute mulch for planting.
